My name is Melissa R. Brown, JD
Welcome to Brown HR Consulting LLC, where strategic human resources expertise meets practical business solutions. I am Melissa R. Brown, JD, Founder and Principal Consultant, with more than 16 years of progressive human resources leadership experience across manufacturing, government, automotive, and other diverse industries.
Throughout my career, I have partnered with organizations to navigate complex workplace challenges, strengthen employee relations, ensure compliance, and build high-performing workplace cultures. My professional background includes executive-level leadership in human resources, benefits, compensation, compliance, workplace investigations, policy development, and organizational effectiveness. In addition to my HR expertise, I hold a Juris Doctor degree, which provides me with a unique perspective when helping organizations manage risk, interpret policies, and address sensitive workplace matters.
Brown HR Consulting LLC was founded with a simple mission: to provide organizations with trusted HR guidance that is strategic, practical, and people-centered. Melissa R. Brown, JD, earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University at Buffalo School of Law, with a concentration in Family Law and Estate Planning. Her legal education provided extensive training in legal research, analysis, writing, negotiation, advocacy, and dispute resolution, while developing a deep understanding of contracts, statutory interpretation, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Through her coursework and practical legal training, Melissa developed strong skills in contract law, legal drafting, policy analysis, interviewing, fact-finding, and evaluating complex situations from multiple perspectives. These competencies translate seamlessly into Human Resources consulting, particularly in workplace investigations, employee relations, policy development, compliance audits, conflict resolution, and organizational risk mitigation.
Melissa's legal background enhances her ability to analyze employment-related issues, interpret policies and procedures, assess potential risks, and provide practical, legally informed HR guidance.
